HI HI HI! I got a manicure today that I LOOOOVEEE so much. It's so neon and summery and beautiful! Check out more pictures after the jump.
I didn't know what to call this design, because it's ikat yet chevrons but I also wanted to point out they're rainbows, so I'll just call 'em ikat chevron rainbow craziness. I LOVE these even though I rushed them... but I probably will have the urge to take them off and change my nails in 24 hours.
Why is my thumb almost always my favourite?! Is it because that's the first nail I do the design on and it's the neatest? ...then I get... lazy... on the rest of the nails? PFFT NO. Anyone else notice that too with their nail art? Anyway, to do these I used an old nail art brush that I got in a polish kit. I trimmed the bristles so that it's teeny tiny and it will be easier to do the detailed strokes needed in ikats. Then, I started with the light blue and worked my way to the pink, making thin lines. This created the spiky/bumpy look!
